December ALREADY!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have been so busy and as you all know the time just flies.

Some friends of mine, Sue and Lynn have a cafe in Bracebridge Heath called "The Pantry" and they have let me put a card stand in their cafe. It's wonderful because now I have an outlet for the cards that I just can't stop making. And the Pantry is wonderful, fantastic food, home made soups and lovely home made cakes. All made by Lynn's fair hand and on top of that Sue is a dab hand with the coffee machine move costa!
Well worth a visit and not just for my cards

I've also been very busy making name pictures to order for Christmas presents, I may now be classed as one of Santa's helpers

At the weekend I did a quick dash up to my Dad's in Durham, with the Christmas stuff. It was lovely to see him and he looked very well. The journey back was a bit bleak, rain through the vale of York not fun at 70 miles per hour, and you can't slow down because that is the speed of the traffic. Any how mission accomplished .

So now I had better get on with Christmas in Lincoln.
Bye for now.

Ali's craft club

Hi Everyone
What a fab day we had at Ali's club yesterday, but we had a issue with one of the punches we were trying out.
OK so not to be defeated I gave it another try,
You need to be on a solid surface ( most important )
Take your time lining up the edge of the paper with the grid.
This is light weight card,
I also stood up to get better pressure, and to make it easier.

Then this is what you get!
This is a 15cm square which when edged fit on to a
13.5cm card blank perfectly.
the image is the little kitty's with the cloud background, and then settled on to the
grass. All very simple, I just added a bow to the larger kitty.

This is the demo from June
I finished it off last night and I have to say I like it very much.
My hubby thinks
I should do these for Christmas! well I never!!!!!!!!!.

Ok that it for now, I'm looking forward to seeing quite a few of you at my craft club on Tuesday evening.
6.30pm to 9.30pm at the Lincoln Imp . My First Workshop for Stampin up I'm am so nervous.
Wish me luck!

Hi
Yes I know I have been a really bad blogger, I have been very busy putting cards together for a stand at a friends new cafe and doing pictures for new babies and sorting out designs for wedding invites. OH! and working at asda. And most of all sorting out a stampin up craft club night club night on the 29/11 at the Lincoln Imp 6.30 to 9.30. E-mail me on laurahobbs1@hotmail.co.uk if you want to join in.
This is Ruby helping me craft but lucky for me she got fed up, curled up and went to sleep.

This is a bit of my craft room and  work top, I end up with a small A4 space to craft in and stuff all around me.

And this little beauty is my big shot pro, it is a monster I hope to tame it soon, I was lucky to get some big dies from the sizzex site so have played with some really lovely papers and made lovely gift bags (more on this soon)

Hi
So much fir a few weeks off. I don't even have time to turn around. Ruby has been taking a lot of time this week she was spayed last Friday, it would be fair to say she has been very needy. The cone has not slowed her down at all.

yes its blurry when she wags her tail (all the time ) she shakes all over!!!!!!!

She is a total nutter

I'll post some card stuff later

Bye for now

Just a quick up date

Hi,
Well I've been on a bit of a bargain hunt looking for a card display stand, I eventually found a shop fitting company in Yorkshire that sold fitting off, that they had removed from shops that they were refitting. It's not new but it has lots of options for different size cards, boxed and flat cards. So now I've got to get busy filling it. That's a daunting task.

No cards to show tonight because I've started a new job today but I thought you may like a picture of our little pup Ruby. She is quite a bit bigger now, she is mostly Jack Russell but I think she is a mix of lots of little terrier type dogs. She is such a nut case, we love her loads. Oh and the cuddly toy bit the dust, she destroys here toys so fast, I think she could work as a dog toy tester, that would be fun!

OK that's it for now.

So I had a look and it's fab loads of lovely dies heavily discounted. I think I will wait till I get the machine before I invest in any dies . Anyhow I enjoyed looking.

More photos, this is like the card I did for Yvonne's birthday.

Peeping around the flowers in the background is one of my baby name pictures I'll post on that another time.

Alicraft club

Hi Everyone.
I had a lovely but very busy day yesterday at Ali's club. I didn't get much time to catch up with everyone but did enjoy doing the demo with you, I hope you all enjoyed it to. I've added a couple of photos, they look a bit odd but you know what they are anyway.

Drink can toppers, funky foam flower,
don't forget to laminate your graph paper before you use it.

Debbie Moore card topper on the card base, the ribbon is from Crafty Notions (some time ago) I think they have something like this on C&C currently.

I've been trying to catch up with other jobs today, but guess what I keep finding myself in the craft room. Surprise! Surprise!
Bye for now Hugs

stressful day

Hi I have been very stressed today 2 job interviews in one day and no answers yet. Will it be yes will it be no?

OK how to keep sane is get back in the craft room, I'm doing prep for Saturdays Ali craft club, problem is I have so many ideas its which one do I choose.

Last night to divert my mind a bit I set about making a card for my Dad to say thank you for being there, Its also a little bit about remembrance.

I used Sheena Douglas paint fusion poppy stamps and pro markers. I'm quite pleased with it.

I also used the poppy stamp to create a background
on the base card then embossed with gold detail
embossing powder, and  a little red bow to set it off.

OK sanity restored .

I've had another try at taking a few photos, these are things that I did a little time ago, and show some more of the type of project I like to do. See what you think?

I have used various stamps and some lovely papers from crafty individuals in the cards, simple techniques  but they look effective.
Each card has it's own mini pizza box to keep it from being squashed.
I try to find new ideas to keep up with my daughters demands, they're both in there twenties so I try to keep it light and fun. These a popular with them currently.

I love all card making and paper crafting and have had a lot of pleasure looking around lots of blogs  and decided to give it a go.
For now I'm just going to try adding a few photos, I'm going to have to get much better at taking photos these are just OK, more learning all good fun!
This is a Wedding card that I have been working on it has a lot of depth 1.5" I send these out in a matching box,This is great to personalize to match the wedding colours and the names and details of the bride and groom.

This was a plain pink mdf  wall hanging that I altered using some fab papers, then decorated with butterflys, for my little niece Sophie on here 1st birthday it went down well with her Mum, and I loved doing it, that's what it's all about.
OK so that's my first try more to follow soon ,
